Instructions for Testing Research Biologics for Animal Pathogens

Information for Sending Samples

(Cell lines, hybridomas, tumor cells, stem cells, patient derived xenographs)

Please obtain and fill out the Charles River submission form which must be completed and sent with the samples. The instructions are on the 2nd page of the form. (Contact the CAF technical manager corricm@mcmaster.ca)

  • There are shipping containers available in the CAF that researchers can utilize (for free).
  • Samples can be sent free of charge on Tuesday mornings from the CAF.
  • They are sent back to Charles River with the driver who is delivering animals. The samples need to be to the CAF no later than 9:00 a.m. on any given Tuesday.
  • They samples need to be in dry ice and we need to know the weight of the dry ice.
  • The paperwork needs to be in the box with the samples.

Please contact the Animal Facility Technical Manager and give notification that the samples are coming in case the driver is early; we can delay them for someone to drop off samples.
