Good Clinical Practice Training

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Harmonized Research Training Framework between Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS), St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH)/The Research Institute of St. Joe’s Hamilton (RSJH), McMaster University Faculty of Health Sciences and Population Health Research Institute (PHRI).

This Harmonization approach will support the research community advance through closer collaboration and partnership. The new Research Training Framework and Requirements will be in effect as of January 21st 2022.  Please refer to the new training framework below for all research operations and activities.  The CITI platform for all institutions have been modified accordingly to incorporate the new harmonized approach.  Current Institutional learning platforms including MyLearning will be modified to incorporate the new requirements.

UPDATE: We have been informed that as of March 1, 2022, N2 will be temporarily disabling the CITI Privacy course. It was determined that the material in the module needed to be evaluated and updated. At the current time, we do not know how long it will be until this course is made available to us again. In order to maintain our research community’s knowledge and education on this topic, we will now require our research staff to complete the McMaster chart tutorial in lieu of the CITI Privacy course until it is made available to us again.

If you have already completed the CITI Privacy course, we will honor that training certificate until its expiration date. N2 has also informed us that the Privacy course will be removed from your CITI profile so we highly recommend saving a copy of your training certificates, which can be found by logging in to the CITI training website, clicking on your institutional affiliation, and viewing/saving your training certificate by clicking on the “View Previously Completed Coursework” link at the bottom of the page.

Please direct any questions about the Harmonized Training Requirement to your respective institutional contact.

Sincerely,
Collaborative Research Leadership

The table below outlines Harmonized Research Specific Training.  This research training is required in addition to the Institutional and corporate mandatory Training courses. (Updated March 2022)

*Should research studies fall under more than one of the categories listed, both categories’ required training must be completed.
